For those who like getting involved…
In the summer, the lake is the most pleasant sports attraction, with swimming, sailing, walking along the banks, parcours vita (bus 2, stop Bois de Vaux), pedalo (Ouchy), and all that followed up by a siesta and sunbathing on the beaches of Vidy (bus 2, stop Vidy or Bois de Vaux) or of
Lutry (bus 9, stop Rive). The Alps, which can be admired every time you are beside the lake or in the city, are only a small half-hour journey away by train. Walks in the summer, skiing, snowboarding and sealskins in winter are all only a half an hour away by train from Lausanne. Tip: the
CFF trains propose interesting offers which combine the cost of the train, departing from Lausanne, and the mechanical ski-lifts in the different ski resorts.
